Past Events - 2016
One of the main events politically in 2016, was the EU referendum. Lots of events across the country - this is just a small selection of local ones, to note for historical context.....
There were two events taking place locally in recent days before the Referendum :
Firstly, on Wednesday 22nd June - in Aldershot, the VOTE LEAVE RALLY - with some excellent speakers: Maj Gen Tim Cross , Diane James MEP, Gerald Howarth MP & more. .
On Monday 20th June, there was a Politicos event at Camberley Theatre, run by the REMAIN group, to provide a viewpoint on why the UK might wish to remain in the EU. Was open to all.
The following online Q&A was added in 2016, and might help gauge where on the scale of EU Remain or EU Leave, you are as well as other political standings:
Past Events - 2015
One of the main events politically, for 2015, was the General Election. UKIP was involved in a number of public meetings in Surrey Heath in the weeks leading up to the election, with Paul Chapman and others in attendance.
UKIP's message was shared with electors, through these hustings and election leaflets, as well as this website. Thanks go to all those involved in communicating the UKIP message locally. Paul Chapman, the UKIP candidate, is still happy to answer questions (which you can send via his blog site here), about what UKIP is doing now.
You can help future UKIP local campaigns, by donating online, via the website. Thank you.
Past Events - During latter half of 2014
There have been a number of local branch meetings, for local UKIP members, held throughout 2014.
Further afield, the UKIP annual conference this year, took place near Doncaster in September. You can view some of the speeches, made at the conference, by clicking on the link here, and selecting speeches from either the Friday or Saturday.
UKIP was represented by Eddie Hill, in a local by-election on September 4th for the Old Dean ward. His share of the vote cast was approx 26%. Thanks to all those who came out to vote for UKIP, in that ward.
On 14th June 2014, members of the Royal Military Academy held a parade through Camberley town centre, in recognition of the centenary of World War 1 and to recognise and support our armed forces, both past and present. UKIP supported this event, with members and supporters attending with other members of the public, along the route.
Elections took place this year for the European Parliament, in May. Details of the results will be found on the Elections page.
Local members came to Eastbourne on June 7th, for the UKIP South East Conference to celebrate our success in the European elections.
